What Happens During a Paediatric Osteopathy Appointment?
Every child is different, which is why each appointment begins with a thorough discussion of your child's health, development and any concerns you may have.
For babies, we will discuss pregnancy, birth history, feeding, sleep, movement and early development. For older children and teenagers, we will explore symptoms, activity levels, growth, posture, injuries and any factors that may be contributing to discomfort or movement difficulties.
A physical assessment will then be carried out using gentle, age-appropriate techniques. Where appropriate, treatment may be provided alongside personalised advice, exercises and practical recommendations to support your child's development, movement and overall wellbeing.
Parents are encouraged to be involved throughout the appointment, and there is always time to ask questions and discuss any concerns.

Baby Checks & Infant Assessments
The first few months of life involve rapid growth, development and adaptation. Our baby checks provide an opportunity to discuss any concerns you may have and ensure your baby is developing and moving comfortably.
During the appointment, we will take a detailed history covering pregnancy, birth, feeding, sleep, movement and early development. This is followed by a gentle physical assessment to evaluate your baby's posture, movement patterns and musculoskeletal development.
Parents commonly seek a baby check following a difficult birth, assisted delivery, feeding challenges, head preference, concerns about posture or simply for reassurance that their baby is developing well.
Our aim is to provide a thorough assessment, clear explanations and practical advice, helping you feel informed and supported during your baby's early months.
